Mr P. B. Lomas, of Motueka, has informed the Motueka "Star" that he -will' be a candidate for the Motueka seat at the forthcoming election. j The sad intelligence has been received by Mrs E. Robson, of Wakefield that her son, Private W. J. Robson,' died ot influenza on his twenty-first birthday ' March 26th, at Tidworth'Military Hospital, England. Cr Grooby, of Motueka, who has been a member of the local Borough Council, with the exception of a short period, (since 1902, has decided to retire from local politics. The Council at its last meeting, carried by acclamation, a hearty vote of thanks and Cr Grooby for i his past services. I
