Christchurch, Jan. 24. A spark the engine of a passing train ignited dry grass in front of the Tost and Telegraph Department's store id Addington. The fire spread to 60 or TO reels of telegraphic cable, and before ii was extinguished every one of the reels was more or less seriously damaged. Though there will be some salvage, the loss' will run into several thousands of pounds, the.material not being insured.
