AERIAL WARFARE.
BOMBING RAIDS: AGAINST
GERMANY.
GENERAL TRENCHARD'S DES-
PATCH,
(Australian and N.Z. Cablo Association
and Reuter.)
London, Jan. 1
A despatch from Major-General Trenchard;.-" commanding the Independent Air Force, explaining the policy of the attacks' on Germany, says the alternatives were sustained attacks on one large centre after gnother until each was destroyed, or to attack as many industrial centres as possible. The latter plan was adopted because our forces would have been insufficient to carry out the former, which, even with greater forces, would have taken another five Years to execute.
General Trenchard incidentally mentions that a group commander, Colonel R. Malosk, established in England a depot from which it was intended, to carry out bombing raids against Berlin, but he only received machines1 capable of carrying out the work at the end of October, and although everybody worked night and day to get them ready for attack, they were only completed three days before the signing of the armistice!.
