His Excellency the Governor-General has been advised that the King has conferred the following honours on the occasion of tsje New Year :—
Knight Bachelor.—The Hon. Worley Bassett Edwards, Senior Judge of the Supreme Court of-New Zealand; and Mr Joseph James '■'■ Kinsey,--of Christchurch, for special services rendered-in connection with various Antarctic expeditions. ' . . "
