.A German official report states':— The English launched a -groat attack yesterday morning between Gouzeaucourt Wood and Hargicourt. Anticipating the attack, we had removed our defence eastward of Epehy to the old English positions between Villevs Guislain and Bellvsourt. The attack broke down. A second attempt also failed, although the "English temporarily penetrated the south-western portion of "Villers Guislain and Quennenioiiu Farm. They were thrown back by a counterattack. .
