A highly .successful fancy dress balli was held in the Tasman Cooperativel HalLon Friday evening, when about 50 couples participated. Music of the highest excellence was provided by Wes Taylor and lacker, Mesdames Johnstone and Stafford, and Mess?? Johnstone Williams, and Tho^n lnzes for the best costumes were won by Mrs D. Gibson, and-Mr E. McKerTlie organiser for the Moderate League is inaking a tour of the district accompanied by Mr J. Scott McDonald' ot lasman, who is introducing the visitor to the community. Mr A. W..Euxton, of Chrisfcchurch is laying out extensive plantations of ornamental trees on his orchard at Tasman, while orchards of considerable extent have been planted recently for Messrs TV. Marriage (of Tasman), V. L Cac^ieniaile (of the Straits Settlements). A. E. Winks XNewtown), T Wau«li (nurseryman Lower Hutt), J Bowel's (Lower Hutt), and some thousands- of pines nave been planted by the Tasn-an ■■Fruit Lauds, Ltd., and by other iatid- . owners.
