Mr Poynton states that the greatest care should be exorcised in approaching objects at sea or stranded on the shore if they bore tho sma lest resemblance to a mine H adaed that when a floating mine "£ plodes the danger area extends over n radms of 200 yards, and If the mine h ashore the area may be greater.
