' (oatem ■ / The London Ex^-ucivo Committee of ho Xaw League has drawn tip an outline of the future' policy of the League, v.-ijociiiuv wit-ii a view to meet the position after the war. In brief, the objects are stated thus: 1. The dissemination among the people of the Empire and British subjects in all parts of tho world of exact knowledge upon tho provision and use of sea power a a the keystone of British National, and Imperial- policy. '2. Tho advocacy of* an*, all-powerful Navy, air force, and mercantile marine as the factors essential for the security of the Empire :and "the. restoration of Britain to ips jightnil position as Mistress of the Sdas. -3 The immediate ■■reconstruction of our mercantile- tonnage to at least the pre-ivar standard; before any foreign orders for tho building of merchant ships are executed, and the demand that .there _.shall bo no transfer of British. shipping to foreign owners or Hags.until British mercantile suoremaey shall have been restored. 4. The application of, steady pressure upon Parliament and the Government, through tho education of public opinion, for closer co-ordination between the lloval Navy and the Mercantile Marino, with a vie\v to tho exigencies of war. 5. The support of all just claims of officers and men of the Royal Navy with regard to pay, pensions, and ■■ prize money. •■. ■ ■ v ; (3. The stimulation,of interest among' the teachers and children of all classes of schools in tho Empire in the sea and air _services as dominant factors in vlmperial existence and prosperity. T. The extension of the Boys' Naval Brigade Movojnent nud the "estabhsh•npnt. ' o'i: proper training institutions j with the view of the preparation of boys j for a sea-.career whenever possible, for.j the elimination of aliens from the Brit- ' ish mercantile marine. ' . 8. The administration of the funds provided at the instance of the league at Home and overseas for the relief of the. dependents of the men of the sea services who have lost their lives in the war and for tho education and apprenticeship., of their children.
