Messages from Petrogracl contain an official announcement of 512 shootings hitherto as reprisals for the murder of Writzki. Some 121 names of hostages are published, who will be shot in case of fresh attempts. These include five Grand Dukes, two of Kerensky's Ministers, prominent ex-officors of the State, and 35 big land owners.
The ex-Archimandrite of Moscow was shot at Smolensk as a. reprisal for the attack on Lenin.
