STOCK SALES REPORT.
Dalgety and/Co-., Ltd., report:— We had a.fairly successful rattle «nl« at our Motueka "yards on Thursday. Cattle came forward in good numbers, but in somewhat-low condition, and, in view of the late spring, bidding was not brisk.! A nice line or well-bred yearlings ofTered on account of Mr M. Stapled brought £6 7s (id. Other sales were': —Low-conditioned two-year steers £9, low-conditioned two and a half-year steers £8 10s, small yearling heifers £3 ]2's 6d, good yearlings to £6 7s 6d, Hereford bull £14 14r:, small two-year steers £6 7s (H, low-conditioned stove cows £o, forward 'store cows £8, fat sheep 87s.
At Takaka on Friday we offered a, largo yarding of mi:u>d cattle to a good attendance of the'public. Bidding for. grown steers was rot brisk, and a num-' ber of lines were passed. Young stock and empty cows were well competed for, as also "were good dairy cows, but backward heifers were hard of sale. ' A nice line or 26 yenrlings offered on account of Mr J. Liddle Harris realised £5. A line of dairy rows sold on account of:Mr W. Bird sold from £9 to £13 ss, averaging £10 13s 4d per head. , Other sales were: —Empty cows £5, £5 ss, £5 10s, to £6, forward cows £6 10s to £8, fat cows £10 to £10 15s, lq'w-conditior.od; cows £4 5s to £5, springing cows £9 to £13 15s, good-conditioned 15-month cattle' £3 ss, small low-conditioned .yearlings £3 os to £3 15s, better .sorts £4 to £4 10s-, best £5, springing heifers £5 15s to £7, according to age and condition, two-year steers (good) i£7 ss, •others. £0 5s to £6 10s fat sheep 465, hoggets Sis 3d.
