General Brnsiloff was arrested and imprisoned in the Kremlin on suspicion of aiding the counter-revolution.

: According^to German newspapers, peasants in the Ukraine and Central and Southern Russia used at least twothirds of the grain to make vodka. A thousand distilleries are working. Any attempt to raid or destroy them results in fierce conflicts. The peasants am well armed and use machine-guns and bombs. Despite the high price of vodka the drinkers member millions, resulting in the revival of .the old evils of drunkenness, refusal to work, rioting, and debauchery.
