Colonel Feyler, a leading Swiss military critic, makes exhaustive calculations, and claims that despite- reinforcements from Russia the German troops in the West are over a million below the 1914 total/ and their quality is inferior.

He estimates that 2,500,000 German* are dead; half a million prisoners, and 2,500,000 incapacitated.
