The official explanation of the Grand Duke of Mecklenburg's death w tha3 he committed suicide owing to tre failure of negotiations to rid him of a sentimental tie for the purpose of enabling him to marry a German princess. The new spapers comment upon the insincerity of the explanation, and tho theory or murder is generally believed.
