Hamilton, March 4

John Harrison, alias Hott, Smith, and Wilson, was charged in the Police Court with failing to enrol, also answering questions in a misleading manner. He pleaded guilty, The police said that accused, a single man, was a deliberate .shirker. He had been working hi the backbldcks to evade service. Accused said. he had kept out of the way because he knew the military wanted him. He did not. want to go to the front, but was not afraid. Ke came from Melbourne six years ago. The defendant was fined £5 on each of the two charges.
