MARLBOROUGH BREWERY COMPANY.
(UNItEO PKESS ASSOCIATION.)
Wellington, Feb. 28. A -motion came before the Chief Justice to-day in connection with "the liquidation of the Marlborongh Brewery Company, when the Official Assignee .it Wellington applied for a commission. On the winding up of the company the Official Assignee was liquidator of the company, but the whole matter was left in the hands of the Deputy.Official Assignee at Blenheim.
■The application was opposed on the ground of undue delay and inefficiency in liquidating the company. Liquidation was started in May, 1911, and some months later the business was sold and the Deputy Official. Assignee had. in hand the sum of £1343. This sum was held and was carniiio- no interest.
His Honour .said that it was most unfair that the money had not been put out at interest. He would not allow any commission, iand that would to some extent recompense the creditors for the interest lost.
