Present indications are for strong southerly winds northward of Farewell Spit and Kaikoura, and freshening north-east winds elsewhere; expect ■cloudy and misty weather, and rain probable generally, with rivers flooded on the Bast Coast of the North Island; the barometer is unsteady in the North, iind has a falling tendency in the fckmth.
