Mr Uru states that politically he is an absolute, independent, ciiongti at the present juncture he is in favour of the National Government. lie holds the view, however, tnat all Maoris should be independents, and that, no matter what the parties ma,- he, they should look after their own interests* at the name time doing their best for the good of the country generally. In his younger days iVir Lru Avas a very prominent New Zcafarid athlete. He has rep1 ewnted Canterbury in both cricket and football.
