Wellington, Feb. 20. As a result of the recent arrests of bookmakers, a number appeared at the Magistrate's Court' ttis morning on charges of betting on licensed premises. Henry James: Wales was fined £40, and James Henry Rogers £20. Rogers was also fined £10 for laying tote odds. John Laidlaw Walling, for keeping a common gaming-house, was ficed £50, and Arthur Walling, for assisting and conducting the same, was fined £25.
