The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Ltd., repdrt having, held their monthly stack sale at Takaka on Thursday, 24th insb. When the> offered a good yarding of sheep, and a considerable number of Seattle. The sheep, on tho whole, consisted pf/gpou iquality sheep,." fhe.^majority of whieii were dealt, with under'the "hammer at .prices entirely satisfactory to. the vendors. The yarding of cattle consisted mostly of young sorts, the market for which was exceptionally dead, the result being that few sales were made. The following were sold by them: — Sheep: 63 fat wethers at 275; 20 fat and forward wethers at 21s 6d;'37 at 22s 3d; 45 at 20s 3d; 61 at 22s 6d; 23 at 235; 30 fat ewes at 255; 27 soundmouth ewes at 21s 9d; 81 at 22s 6d; 24 at 39s 9d; 57 (on account of A. G. j and S. R. Sparrow) at 27s 3d; 56 ewe lambs at 15s 3d; 54 mixed sex lambs ai, '13s; 77 at 13s 6d;_ 64 at 13s 3d; 10 (small) at 9s 6d; 65 two-tooth ewes ai. 225; 49 at 23s 9d; 60 two-tooth wethers at 19s; 30 at 20s 3d; one full.mouth Romney. ram 4 guineas; 1 two-shear : liomnev rain at 6^ guineas; 1 eight- • tooth Romney ram at 5i- guineas; 3 full nioutn Romney rams ay '6$ guineas, 1 Shropshire 1 guinea. Cattle: 15 2-year old steers at 8 guineas; 5 calves at £2 15s; 15 at. 375, 2 two-year heifers, at £4 ss; 1 emptj cow £-i los; 1 nine-months heifer £3.
