Wellington, Jan. 24. Messrs Thompson Bros., Ltd., report as follows on the Wellington fruit and produce market: —
During the week heavy consignments! of stone fruits have come forward. I Values are somewhat easier. Tevioo apricots-are coming to hand freely, and are meeting with ready sales, feupptio* of tomatoes are equal to "the demand at current rates. Dessert apples are now wanted; values have advanced, the market being now clear of imported dessert, varieties. The following values are obtaining : — Pears: Choice Hawke's Bay "Williams' Bon Chretien 3s 6d to 4s 3d, Louise Kou jersey,3s to 4s, Motueka 3s to 4^, Windsor 2s 9d to 3s, 6d per half-case. Apples: Gravenstein 9s to 12s, lie Quarrendon 6s to Bs, Beauty of i3a,th os 6d to 7s 6d, lied Astrachan 7s to fe per bushel, cooking varieties 5s co -6s per bushel.
Apricots: Te/iot 4s 9d .to 5s Gd, Motueka 4s to ns per half-case. ■ Peaches: Choice dessert 6s to 7s.j : others 4s to 4s 9d, cooking varieties .">.- tid to 4s 6d.* Nectarines: Choice 4s 6d to 5s 6d. t Greengages Ss 6d to 7s 3d. Prunes 4s to 4s 3d. Plums : October Purple 5s 6d to 6s 3d, Burbank 4s !kl to os 3d, small 2s 6d to 3s Gd, Wixon 3s 6d to 4s 6d, Blue Diamonds 3s to 4s per half-case. j Grapes Is 6d to 2s per lb. j Tomatoes: Nelson 4s 6d to 5s Bd, Hutt 6s to 8s per half-case. There is good inquiry for all choice poultry.
