A Masterton recruit, writing from the Cl Camp at Tauherenikau, says: "I have no doubt that this camp is going to be a great success, as men are being continually drafted cut for the Featheiston Camp. Physical drill, marching, regular hours, regular meals, and the outdoor life cannot fail to improve the health of the men. The. greatest ailment appeal's to &c (eg trouble."'
The planet Venus is now a very conspicuous feature in tho western sky each evening, !>cing above the horizon for three hours after sunset. The planet has now reached its maximum elongation of 47. degrees from the sun, which it. will approach rapidly. Its brilliancy and -size wilt increase until January* 5, as it approaches the earth. The present distance from the earth is 60 million- miles.
