Brisbane, Oct. 17

There is much comment regarding the recent appointments to the Legislative Council, particularly in view of the slap the Government received over the Council abolition referendum.

The opinion is held in some quarters that the Government intends swamping the Council with the object of prolonging the life of Parliament.
