At a meeting of creditors of A. W, Schaef, who recently had a judgment given against him in a. slander case concerning two young women, bankrupt declined to give any information as to what he- had done with the money he had drawn out of the bank in theia-st few weeks. He said he realised that he ran the risk of going to gaci. hut he was prepared to take it out. ' He vehemently declared that ho was the subject of a conspiracy. . tis admitted he had obtained £1500 above mortgages on the sale of property recently, but declined to say what he had done with the money. Bankrupt refused' to sign his evidence, and counsel for creditors r.sked that steps be taken to bring bankrupt before the Supreme Court .
