MINERS STILL DISSATISFIED
LUMPERS AND SEAMEN NOT AT
WORK
(Received Oct. 4, 10.50 p.m.) ■■. Sydney, Oct. 4. Although further Northern collieries opened to-day, discontent is still evident in certain districts. The Kurri Kurri miners decided not to resume towfc on file Maitland fields, maintaining that they are asked to accept humiliating and unsatisfactory conditions.
Mr Fuller announced that until the men are prepared to resume work at all the mines in a particular group none will be opened.
The Federated Seamen and Firemen decided not to resume work until the wharf labourers come to terms, not because of any grievance against the shipping companies, but owing to tie question of sailing with cargo loaded by non-unionists.
Another meeting has been fixed for Monday, and in the meantime efforts win be made to settle tho wharf labourers' trouble.
