NELSON PRESBYTERY.

(From "The Colonist," Sept. 12th.)

A meeting of the Nelson Presbytery was held in St. PauHe Vestry, Picton, last week. The Moderator (Rev. A. A. Armstrong) presided over the gathering, and extended the very hearty, welcome of the Presbytery to the Rev. G. iGibb, M.A., of Nelson, who was preisent. Coming io "his charge in the 'prime of his vigour and.vision, said the .Moderator, his work no doubt would be of great general .good, .and particularly, helpful to the cause of Presbyterianiism throughout the Presbytery. j The financial statements of Home 'Mission charges were reviewed, and re- ; commendations relating to financial aid made to the General Committee.

I :-It was decided to arrange for a Pres/ "bytery travelling expenses Jund^ the ;Rev. G. Gibb being appointed itreasurer.

Two ; new Home Missionaries had been' received -- into the Presbytery since last i meeting. j It was agreed to recommend the dif- | ferent charges to mark in some special i way the commemoration of the 400 th : anniversary of the Reformation, which \ falls due on the 31st of October.

•The Government request for a day of intercession on October 7th was lgjt to the various charges to deal withes deemed best.

It was decided t-o nominate the Rev. Gray Dixon, M.A., of Roslyn. Duneain, as tho next Moderator of tRe General Assembly. The Rev. F. ET. MacKenzip was transferred to tne Wellington Presbytery, and the Revs. W. O. Robb and A. A. Armstrong were appointed voting members to attend the next Assembly meeting to be held in Dunedin early in November. - ,~ .
