; (From "The Colonist," July 24th.) [ The annual meeting, of the Nelson , Aid Society was held yesterday after-: . noon. Bishop Mules occupied the1 : chair, and there were present Mrs , Mules, Bishop-Sadlier. Rev. W. Baumber, Rev. Father McGrath, Mr P. A. .jDickson, and Mr W. W. Snodgrass , (hon. secretary). An apology for ab- •■ .sence was received from Mr W T 11 -Bond. '. [ Mrs Gibbs, on behalf of the Ladies' ;•; Committee, submitted details of expon- .: diture on relief, showing a credit bal- ; ance in the hands of the committee to £2. 9s 6d. . I Some discussion took place in regard 11 to the future operations of tlie society, j and it was resolved, on the motion o<- ! Bishop Sadlier, seconded by Mr P. A. -IDickson, to continue the society. [ j The following committee was elected : ,'Mesdames Mules, Gibbs. iVlacqnarle, j and Charles, Miss E. J. Gibbs, Messrs [|W.-T. Bond, W. W. Snodgrass T A ,H. Field, M.P., W. McConchie,'and S. .: Blomfield, and the registered ministers . in the city. x ' , It was resolved to recommend the in- ,'< coming committee to secure the appointI ■ ment of trustees inrtte Captain Rough ,-.i bequest who are resident in Nelson, j Mrs Scaly tendered'-her-resignation j a? a member of the Ladies' Committee, . and it was decided to send a letter expressing the society's thanks for the ; valuable services she had rendered. [ The meeting also passed a resolution placing on record the society's apt>re- , ciation of the work done by the Rev. j J. H. MacKenzie during his connection witt' the society. . -A- hearty vote of thanks was also ( - passed to the retiring secretary and t { treasurer (Mr W. W.•.Snodgrass)'. [ At a meeting of the committee held after the meeting. Bishop Sadlier was , elected chairman of the committee, and I Rev. Canon Dart p'on. secretary and . treasurer.
