The correspondent of the London Observer says thai the unanimous appointment of Sir Horace Plunkett to the presidency surprised and gratified the delegates. It was feared iliat the selection would raise primary differences between the parties.
Sir Horace Plunkett is convinced that an agreement can be reached by tho process of considering each vexed question from all sides and holding over unsettled points for final }ud£ ment, thus preventing the early abandonment of the proceedings. In .despair. He believes that the more' reasonable elements of the Sinn Fein will recent an agreement guaranteeing political and fiscal autonomy.
