A German official message says:—• "After intense drumfire enemy infantry attacked in wide*- sectors eastward and south-eastward of Ypres. Deep masses of English attacked from the Monchy-le-Preux road as fax ac the Arras-Cam-brai road. We destructively bombarded the points of assembly and eTerywhere repulsed the advancing waves with the severest losses. We captured French trenches nortlward of St. Quentin on a front of 1200 metres. Counter-attacks failed."
