ROAD BOARD
DOVEDALE
The- Dovedale Road Board met on the loth inst.
Hie Returning Officer reported that Messrs A. Jordan, A. Davies, W. M. Hawkes, and W. A. Thorn had been elected as members of the board Mr Thorn, being- a llcw member, was welcomed to the board.
xhe secretary took the chair, and Mr Joi-daii was re-elected chairman and Mr Best treasurer for the ensuing year. Resolved, that any two members and the treasurer bo authorised to si*n cheques.
Warrants were signed for £31 8s 3d. Ihe secretary was instructed to ascertain whether the accident policy taken lout by the board covered brkVc-'buikl-nig risks.
A request was received from Mr H. J. unmcliffe for the widening and metalling of road in .Jellyinau's Valley, and offering to spend" £4 towards the carrying out of the work.—lt was lesolved to spend £4 to meet the amount promised by Mr Tunnicliffo. The secretary was instructed to rinp up Mr Whiteside and ascertain whether tiie County Cnuucil had any 3ft concrete pipes that it .would supply to the board, and, if s o, to order six and get them carted on to the Win's Valley road as soon as possible, Mr Davies to get them put in. Mr Loveridge is to get a culvert on the Moutere road repaired. Mr Best reported having had ono and a half days' work done at the Cemetery. Resolved, that the board meet at the Cemetery on May 26th at 2 p.m. A warrant was "signed for 13s Gd. Ihe ooard is. to mec-t again on ,hnio 20th.
