London, May 18. Two members of the. Sheffield Strike
Committee have been.. arrested and brought to London.
.The police raided the headquarters of the strikers' delegates in London.
Seven members of the engineers' strike committee were arrested and charged under the Defence of the Realm Act- with impeding the supply of mucitions. They were remanded.
The police also raided a meeting of slop stewards at Walworth and seized papers. No arrests were effected. The stewards have been- most active throughout the country in organising
strike*.
The Council of the Amalgamated Society of Engineers advised the dele- ■ gates and shop stewards now attending the conference in Londca. to return to their respective districts and direct the engineers to return to work; and tten open negotiations through the trade amion leaders.
