There will be anotl'er complete change of programme at tho Empire Theatre this evening, when a special attraction will be screened in a Lasky star feature entitled "The Warrens.of Virginia," in which Blanche Sweet takes the leading part. Before the American Civil War, Agatha Warren has fallen in love with Ned Burton, of New York. When war breaks out Agatha's father, General Warren, takes' a command in the Southern army, while Burton becomes a Union lieutenant, and the lovers are separated. Most of the action of the drama takes place in the closing days of the war, when General Warren's soldiers are suffering from/lack of supplies. Burton is forced to, take advantage of his intimacy witl:- the Warrens to carry out a plan which leads' to the cutting off of the supply trains. He himself is captured, and Agatha, loving him in spite of herself, offers him means of escape which he is too proud- to accept. The surrender of Lee at Appomatox, however, saves him from death, and the lovers are reunited. The supporting programme will include a, most . interesting war film showing British monster; giins in action, also a Gaumont Graphic and other films, . : . Motueka will be visited to-night and Richmond on Saturday..
