WOMAN SERIOUSLY BURNT.

Extensive and somewhat serious burns were received yesterday by Mrs Inwood, residing at Mrs A. H. Hounsell's in Waimea street. It appeals i that Mrs Inwood, whoso husband is working in the country, got up at abou.t 5^ a.m. to prepare food for her infant. The spirit lamp which she used upset, and her flannelette nightgown caught fire. Mr Hounsell, awakened by her (screams, went into the passage to which Mrs Inwood had rushed from her bedroom. _ Seeing her plight, he obtained a blanket, in which he enveloped her. This prompt measure saved her' from receiving more serious injuries-. In rendering help Mr 'Hounseli received burns on the hand which necessitated 'medical attention. Mrs Inwood was. attended by Dr. Bett, and [subsequently was removed to the Hospital.
