Hokltika, Dec. 11. v At a representative public' meeting held here to r night, the following'resolution was moved1 by tho Mayor and supI*oited by prominent business nion and members of local bodies:—"That this meeting, recognising the necessity for' the resources of tho country being organised to bring the war to an early and successful concluaion, favours the .utmost, use yi; the manhood and .wealth resources of the Dominion, and support the enforcement of the Military, Service Act oi any additional means to obtain the early attainment oi the Allies! objective.'' Tho rosohition was carried unanimously. It was also lesoli/od to | communicate with local bodies throughout/ the Donvnioii, .suggesting tliat a similar resolution be passed by them.
