This led ,to trouble, and th© nrameii peited the police with fruit ' alter having been forcibly placed on board. As the ship moved away an American soldier wharf fired his revolver, and the firemen retaliated with a shower of bottles. Fortunately nobdy was injured, and it was seen by those on board that the soldier on the wharf who had fired his revolver had oeen arrested by the police."
