I Tho annual exhibition of work in connection with St. Maryjs Sacred Heajt , High School took place' at the Convent yesterday afternoon, when there- was I tho usual large attendance of parents 1 and friend*. There was a fine display of the various subjects taught at the school, and tho craftsmanship of some of tho pupils spoke volumes for the excellence of tre instruction given by the Sisters. Round the Avails were hung paintings of floweis, figures, scenery", etc., in oil and water colours, seiveral of the studies being of .a high order of merit. Them were many specimens of carving, comprising collar boxes, fender stools, trays, tables, fern stands, medicine chests, etc., by both'senior and 'junior pupils,- and the workmanship was really first-class. A number of'handpainted ■ greeting cards, cardboard flower-pot covers', and specimens oi mat weaving by, the -children of the lower standards were also deserving of more than passing attention. A considerable amount of space was as usual taken up with specimens of fancy work, including stencilling, pen painting, hand-painted cushions, canvas cushions, Mountmellick work, pillow-shams, table covers, crochet work, etc. The all-round excellence of the work was the subject of much favourable comment.
