WELLINGTON FRUIT AND PRODDCE MARKET.

Wellington, Sept. 10. Messrs Burbidge and Son report a.s /allows on the Wellington fruit and produce market:— Splendid prices are being realised for all varieties of apples, owing to the keen demand here. As no" American apples came by the Maitai, these prices are likely to continue. Current prices: Apples: Dougherty 15s to 17s, Sturmer"l2s to 14s, Rokewood 11s to 12s 6<J, Rome Beauty 12s to 14s 6d, Lor.-l Wolseley 10 s 'to 13s, Washington 10s t 12s. Pears 14s to 16s, dump cases. Eggs 1» Id per dozen. Walnuts 9d per lb. Potatoes £9 per ton. Cabbages os to 7s per sack. Cauliflowers 6s to 10s per sack. Pork 6£d to«7d per lb. Ducks 7s to Bs, fowls 6s to 7s ptv pair. Green peas are eagerly inquired for. .Thompson Bros., Ltd., report as fal ows on the Wellington fruit and pro luce market:— Supplies of local apples and pctws continue short, and high values are being well maintained for all varieties. Tasmanian apples are coming to hand more freely. Their condition is anything but satisfactory, considerable quantities arriving braised. Only moderate quantities of green peas, rhubarb, and asparagus are coming to hand, with payable values ruling. The following values are obtaining:—. Apples: Local Dougherty (Hawtke's Bay) 12s 6d to 16s, Apple of Commerce 13s '6d to 14 s, Stunner 12s to 14s, Rokewood 12s 6d to 13s 6d, Delicious 12s to 13s, Catsbead 10s to lls, Lord Wolseley, Washington, and Cleopatra 10s 6d to 12s, Rome Beauty 10s to lls; Epps's Seedling 8s Gd to 9s 6d per bushel. Tasmamian Stunner 12s 6d to !3s 6d, inferior 6s to Bs, French Crab 12s to 13s, Scarlet 12s 6d to 14s per bushel. Pears: Cool-stored Winter Nelis and Cole 7s 6d to 8s 6d per half-case. Vegetables are in much heavier supply. and values in consequence are receding. Asparagus 14s to 18s. Rhubarb 10s to 14s per dozen bundles. Green pflas 4s per peck. Pork Gid to 7d per lb. Walnuts, wanted, B£d to 9kl per lb. Potatoes: .Canterbury red 180s to 1.955, white 180s to 190s per ton. . Onions: Melbourne 180s per ton. Eggs, scarce, Is 4d per dozen.
