The plan adopted at the annual meeting of the Nelson College Old Girls' Association for showing practical interest in Red Cross work is being, acted upon. On payment of a small fe%, the signatures of, old girls of the Colkge will be worked on a flag. A flag— white, with a red cross in the centre; — has been given by a donor who remains anonymous. The names of signatories will be woiked on the; flag in the College colours, the centre of the cross being reserved for the names of vav nurses who have been pupils of the College. It is intended .that the flag! shall be displayed on all occasions when old girls assemble at the College. The Members of the committee who have this! special effort in hand are Misses I. Hud-j son,' Milton street: M. Joyce, Osmoria street; M. McEa-chen, Gir?s' College; and C. E. Rowe, Waimca road. All the lrioncy subscribed ,wili be handed over to the Red Cross Fund. The Rev. J. H. Mackenzie 1-ns received the following letter from the High Commissioner:'—"l have pleasure in informing you that, the four boxes of clothing "shipped by you to mo per s.s. Rotoniji arrived safely in good order and condition. In accordance with the addresses on the cases they were distributed as follows:—2 cases to Mrs jSichol, 8 Hughenden Terrace. Kelvmside, Glasgow^ and 2 cases to Mro Molls nd, 'Tvia Orn,' Hale, Cheshire. Mrs Melland, in rekuowle-Jging the gift, informed mo that the contents of ,the case she had unpacked were vexv nice and useful, and she desired me to convoy her thanks to the donors for their kind nifL. So far I have noo received in r<ol--now!r-c!frment of +hs cases sent to Mrs Xichol; Visibly she may Waive written to you."
