> Mr Chamberlain announced that the Indian Government had dismissed Bri-gadier-General Rowe,. Acting-Quarter-master-General j the general commanding, and the Assistant Medical Director at Karachi, for their responsibility for entraining soldiers from Peshawar across the Sind Desert in carriages little better than cattle trucks. Nineteen died from heatstroke, and ' 136 were affected.
