It is officially announced tlHa,t from the start of the effort it has been the intention of the Executive to eventually publish a full list of contributions, but it is obviously impossible to do so until fclio canvassing is finished aud all collection lists are returned by each K&A Tho ,ex« nifcivG sot out to raise £25,000, and the collecting will ,o- 0 on until a thorough canvass of the whole district is completed. It is desired that the .public should know the reason for. the"-withdrawal of the Mental Hospital team from the tuo-of-war commenced recently in the Provincial grounds. A statement of the case received by the chairman of the grenadiers Committee sets out that during ia: pull with Grenadiers No. 2 one of the Mental Hospital team severely ricked his back. The nominated emergency could not get off duty to fill the injured man's place. Thereupon two members of the Mental Hospital team waited upon the promoters of the tug-of-war aud the manager of the competition, and explained the'team's position. They received the consent of the manager, referee, and others to substitute another member of the staff, which was done. This proceeding .• was protested against. Next day the team found tliiit the protest liad been upheld by those who on tho previous day had consented to the {alteration. The team considered that faith had not been kept with them, and withdrew from the coniDotition. .
