Paris, July 27. A communique states that we made progress eastward of Estrees. ,
The Germans, after a violent ■bombardment', attacked our salient northeastward of Buttes Wood laVt night, but failed under our iuaehine gun fire.
Our curtain" fire:.stopped, with losses, a niglvtattaek upon a 1200.metre front westward •of Prosnes. A counter-at-tack threw out the Germans from advanced trenches. : - ."
The artillery is active at Hill 304 and Fleury.- Our 'grenade attack.; made progress westward of Thiaumont work.;
