MAGISTRATE'S COURT.

BRIGHTWATER

At a sitting of the Magistrate's Court held at Brightwater'on the 26fch inst., before Mr J. S. Evans.. S.M., the plaintiff was non-suited in the case of Chixs. Knapp (Mr Maginnity) v. R'Currie and P. Evans, of Napier' (Mr Rout), being a claim for £19 7s 6d for fruit.

Judgment was given for plaintiff on default in'the oas^,of W. JR. May v. J. Goodman for £1 18s 3d, and costs 6s. •

. Several other civil cases "rccre either adjourned or struck out. . H. Dooley was convicted and fined £1 and ordered to pay costs £1 for riding v r. bicycle at night without a light. - ■ " ■

G. Roil was- fined £1 and costs 7s for driving at night without lights. T. R. Savage was fined 5s ;n,d costs <s for allowing a chimney to become foul and catch on fire at Richmond
