Tho committee of the Helping Hand Shop desire to thank a lady resident m the city for a g'ft of an Encyclopaedia, uhieh was disposed of yesterda3, and greatly assisted the funds. VKo the ladies of Brjgrtwrtei and those of the eastern portion of the city for their special monthly contribution The Red Cross Fund benefited to the extent of £25 Of this amount £1 2^ was dbtamed by the Majoress's Flag., which, now totals £38 Is. Contributions were jeceiyed from Wakapuaka, Atawhai;TWaJkefield, Eicbmond, Stoke, T&bunaimriV the Port, Technical School, Girls' College, Boys' i Central (Sixth Standard), Hacapderi ; Street, Girls' Central (Third Standard), Tasmau Street,, arid Miss Lightfoot s schools, ialso tlie city. Several donations w§rs received, .whicb. helped to s^vell the funds. The .interior of the shop -. has been greatly improved by renovations and alterations-carried .out through the kindness of a lady member of the committee. -..'■'. ' ■
