UPPER MOUTERE.

A very successful progressive euchre party-was held at Upper Mou'tereon the 2OtOh inst., in the interests of the Upper. Moutere candidate for Princess, Miss Ruby Thomas. There were a good number present, and- >ai collection amounting to £3. Is was taken up. A sheep donated by Mr, C. Eggers1 was auctioned, and brought in £4 ss. A table given by Mr. Ash more brought in a fuz-ther sum of £2 2s, and guessing the contents of a mysterious parcel brought in £1 14s -6d. Half-a-crown was also given stc- pay for the lighting of the hall;, making a total of £il ss. The evening's play was arranged by Messrs H. R. Bensemann and H. O. Beuke, and the supper by the ladies of the Red Cross Committee, assisted by two others.
