(Received1 July 24, 10.30 p.m.)

Petrograti, July 24

The Grand Duke's summer campaign in the Caucasus is extremely promising, and the weather is good1. He has captured Ardasa, whereby he secured all but the last thirty miles of the. great military road running from Trebizond and Erzeroum to Erzingan.

The Russians still have a range 7000 feet high to cross before reaching Erzingan from Kelldchifteik.
