MOTUEKA HARBOUR.
| At a special meeting of the IMotueka Har*boiir Board a report was considered {says the "Star") which disclosed the fact that the work as originally design!ed had nob been completed, and that injury had been done- to the harbour by i depositing boulders across the old j-Moutere channel, thereby altering the Soutfknv of the- water greatly to the 'prejudice of the whole work. Thy j board in ccrsidering the matter recognised the fact that further dredging Was imperative ;as advised by the on- ! gineer, who, in pointing out the necesi'sity, made it clear that dredging operations must be put in hand .from timo to time until the beaches hi the vicinity ■of the basin had 'attained a natural .batter. He ialso pointed out tlie neccs•lsitv of restoring the old Montere ch.-tii- • nel.'by dredging.
