Owing- to recent frosts supplies of eggs, have eased the last few days, .and prices have firmed considerably. \ Dessert apples are in short supply, and highly coloured'varieties are meeting with -.a ready - sale. The following prices were realised during the week:— Wheat: Velvet 5s 2d to 5s 3d per bushel, Tuscan 4s 8d to 4s 9d, best fowl 4s 3d. Oats: J -Gartons 2s lOd per bushel, B Gartbns 2s 9d. A Sparrowbills 2s 91d. «
Potatoes: Prime table £8 per ton, medium £7. Onions: Melbourne £7 15s per ton. Eggs:, Fresh first grade Is 6d per dozen. 'Apples: Dessert Scarlet Pearmain 3£d to 3-^-d per lb, Cleopatra 3d to Tomatoes: Local Is 2-J-d per lb. Poultry: Hens 3s 6d \to^3s 9d per pair, cockerels 4s 6d to 5s 6d, ducks 4s 6d to ss, turkey hens 8-£ d per lb live weight, gobblers 10|d.
