GERMAN SQUADRON DISGUISED.

Stockholm, July 2.

Tlse "Svenska Dagsblad," giving details of the Baltic fight, states that the Gernvan squadron included light cruisers masked as freight steamers, being aware that the Russians do not attack merchantmen proceeding to Sweden.

The ruse enabled the' squadron' to safely approach and open fire at short range. Destroyers following in tho distance were summoned to assist.

The attack is ascribed to a desire to force back tho Russians beyond the Aland) Islands, and to strengthen tho German minefields in the vicinity.
