Christchurch, May 8. The Hon. A: T. Maginnity, M.L:C., of Nelson, at the invitation of the Mayor of Christchurch, addressed a mass meeting in Cathedral Square on Saturday evening, when ho implored eligible men to at once volunteer for actve service, and not allow it to* 'be said of them that their services were only given on compulsion. They were wanted now without delay, and he promised them there and then that, if they would do their dutyHo their King and country, Parhai ment would do its duty by them.
