EXTRAVAGANCE DISCOURAGED
The Hon. Colonel J. Allen, Minister of i)efcnee. in : reply to a deputation winch waited on him at Wellington the other day, road over a list of necessary articles for an, officer's kit, which hacbeen carefully prepared and checked by Staff officers, and by Imperial officers who .had just come from the front, ami by .them-declared, to bo-sufficient. He read tho following approved hit: —
