London, April 24

An aeroplane flew over Dover from the East at a height "of 6000 feet. Anti-aircraft guns drove it off. No bombs were dropped.

The raid caused immense excitement among holiday makers at Dover, who flocked to the streets in thousands despite the regulations.

The gun fire was the first intimation. The Taube was visible through glasses hurrying seaward.
